Back at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery

It has been six years since I've been here. The plants and trees have matured, the community has changed. Some things are the same, the way the floor creaks in the sala, the smell of the library, the lovely English countryside.
I feel nostalgic, and joyful. Mostly joyful. I spent most of my 20's here (from 23-30) it was a wholesome and fruiful time for me.
Today is Ajahn Sumedho's 75th birthday. I feel so grateful that I got his teachings. He looks healthy and it is inspiring to see him.

I used a very old set of pan watercolors to make this sketch of the Amaravati temple.

I am reading Ken Wilber's A Brief History of Everything.
